Coronavirus update

We're excited to open with events at full capacity from Saturday 29th January 2022. Your safety is of the utmost importance to us and we have implemented several measures in accordance with the latest Welsh Government guidelines for the performing arts to ensure that we are as COVID-19 secure as possible.
This page will be regularly updated, so please check again before you visit for the latest information. We will also send you an email before you attend.

Here's everything you need to know before and during your visit:

Before You Visit

Get your Covid pass
In line with the Welsh Government regulations, audiences attending performances at the Grand will be required to show a COVID Pass. A COVID Pass is available if you have been fully vaccinated or if you register a negative lateral flow test in the 24 hours prior to your theatre visit. Lateral flow tests are available for free from many pharmacies or can be ordered from the NHS online.

Check for symptoms
If you are experiencing any of the identified Covid-19 symptoms it is very important you do not attend the performance / visit the theatre.

Leave more time
We suggest you give yourself plenty of time to enter the theatre as there may be additional checks and procedures to complete, so please leave plenty of time for your arrival. The auditorium will open half an hour prior to the performance start time.

When you arrive

Show your COVID Pass
Your COVID Pass will need to be shown to gain entry to the venue. This can be a digital or paper version.

During your visit

Face coverings
Please wear your mask unless medically exempt or you are in hospitality areas. Children under 11 are exempt.

Social distancing
There is no legal requirement to socially distance, but out of courtesy to others, we would encourage you to leave as much space as you can and follow any one-way systems that may be in place.

Ventilation system
The air-handling unit in the auditorium has recently been adjusted meaning there is 85% fresh air being provided into the auditorium in line with Covid fresh air guidelines.

Hand sanitisers
Sanitisers are located at each main entrance and exit and outside each door to the auditorium on all levels; please use frequently.

Our Front of House staff are on hand to frequently sanitise touch points and toilets prior, during and after the performances.

Contactless payment
We advise you to buy tickets online or use contactless payment in the theatre to avoid unnecessary contact.

Where possible, please use e-tickets, which will minimise social contact or bring along 'Print at Home' tickets to avoid collection queues at the Box Office. Ticket scanning devices will be used on entry to the auditorium.

Non-attendance due to Covid-19
We will offer an exchange, or credit if you or any member of your party are unable to attend due to: Covid symptoms, a positive test result, or a requirement to isolate. If this happens, please email us at swansea.grandreservations@swansea.gov.uk  before the start time of the performance you're due to attend and will get back to you to process your credit or exchange within the next couple of days. We may ask for proof.

Personal Possessions
We kindly ask you to not bring any large items to the theatre as unfortunately during this time we do not have anywhere to store them.

Only one person / group can be permitted in the passenger lift at any time. We encourage customers to use the stairs if they are able to.

Box Office
Our Box Office is open 10.00am - 4.00pm Monday to Saturday on non-show days and from 12.00pm until 15 minutes after curtain up on show days. For Sunday shows, Box Office is open 1 hour before the start time.
